Warframes latest patch changes the old alert system which were time limited missions that would randomly appear in your navigation window. They would reward anything from credits, blueprints, cosmetic items, mods and essential crafting materials. Due to the random nature of this system, various 3rd party accounts rose to keep players informed of the latest alerts. The developers have stated a desire to remove the “snooze you lose” attitude from the current alerts system.

The first of the lore driven Nightwave content is called The Wolf Of Saturn Six and gives you daily and weekly challenges to complete in return for NightWave Standing. Unlike the syndicates system you get set rewards with each new level and along the way earn a new currency called Wolf Creds which can be used to purchase more specific rewards. How much variation from Nightwave to Nightwave is still yet to be seen but Digital Extreme’s are very good at making the right decisions, based on the good of the game rather than simply the bottom line. You can view the forum post detailing the specifics of the new Nightwave system here.

Changes to improve player immersion and progression is always going to be welcome in my books and I look forward to seeing what the future of this new system will be. For those who have still yet to try Warframe it is available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. You can find them on Steam here, or go directly to their website and create an account here
